What Is Dylan Doing Now?

A while ago blogger and developer Derek Sivers created a /now page to provide a simple link to updates about current projects, and he encouraged others to do the same. So this is mine…

I have recently completed production of the feature documentary I started with my friend David Farrier in mid-2014. Funded initially through Kickstarter the project later took on a new sense of scale when it was further supported by the NZ Film Commission and MPI Media Group.

I’m currently preparing for Tickled’s US and NZ general release (May 26 in NZ, June 17 in the US).

I’m also continuing with my day-job as Head of Post-Production on NZ serial drama Shortland Street, where we produce 250 half-hour episodes of scripted drama in 49 weeks each year. As part of that job (although slightly outside of the Post-Production scope) I have helped oversee the upgrade of our camera platform from Sony 2/3″ studio cameras (HDC-1500) to new super 35 cameras – namely the Panasonic VariCam 35.

I am also currently considering what other projects I might like to take on in the coming year.
